The apostle Paul is speaking in Romans 12:21 (KJV), “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
As the scripture states, for those of us who are in the body of Christ, the only acceptable worship is to offer ourselves completely to the Lord as an instrument of righteousness. We often hear the saying, “my body…my choice”, well this is true to a certain extent.
For the Word says in (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
We were bought with a price, which was the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ! Oh but He’s not dead, for He rose again with all power in His hand. He gave us a portion of that power…a precious gift…it’s called The Holy Spirit, which lives within us; therefore, we must maintain our temple so to provide such a precious gift with the best accommodations!
